2008 Wrap-Up
Well here we are on the last day of 2008 and it’s been a fine year. I made the jump from student to “productive member of society”, moved to Seattle, and got engaged. Interesting times indeed! 2008 offered up lots of great music. Considering the album as we know it is a dying breed, there sure were a lot of good ones. Here are my favourites for the year: (click images to read...

My Favourite Albums of 2008
So after reviewing my iTunes ‘2008’ playlist which is currently sitting at 72 albums I decided it was too hard to try and narrow it down to a top 10 or 20. Instead, I’m just going to write small blurbs about some notable favourites and post them periodically in a semi-random order. Enjoy! P.S. I’m using twitter now, so if you’re into that sort of thing you can find...

Winter
Just in time for the holidays, Seattle has snow and record low temperatures. Of course, it’s nothing compared to back home but it’ll do for now.  Winter puts me in a contemplative mood and it seems like a good time to reflect on the year that was. I’ve been revisiting some choice albums from 2008 and holy jeebus what a great year for music! It might be tough to narrow it down...

Chinese Democracy
Let me start by saying that this album holds no mythical significance to me. I have not been holding my breath since ‘93 for Axl Rose to once again grace the world with his creative “genius”. I was four years old when Appetite for Destruction came out. For me, Guns N’ Roses have always been just a band. Axl Rose is not jesus. Axl Rose is a douchebag. So is Slash. That...

Went to see the Fleet Foxes @ The Moore Theatre last night. Amazing band, cozy venue, fantastic sound, and witty inter-song banter made for a great show. My dreams will be filled with four-part harmony…
